Église Flambeau de Dieu – Statement of Faith
The Bible
We believe the Bible is the inspired, infallible Word of God. It is our final authority in all matters of faith and life.
(2 Timothy 3:16–17)
One True God
There is one eternal God, revealed in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—equal in power and glory.
(Matthew 28:19; John 4:24)
Jesus Christ
Jesus is fully God and fully man. He was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, died for our sins, rose again, and now reigns in heaven.
(John 1:1,14; 1 Peter 2:24; Hebrews 1:3)
The Fall of Man
Man was created in God’s image but fell through sin, separating all people from God. Only Jesus can restore us.
(Genesis 3; Romans 3:23)
Salvation by Grace
Salvation is a gift of God’s grace, received by repentance and faith in Jesus Christ—not by works.
(Ephesians 2:8–9; Romans 5:1; John 3:16)
Water Baptism & Communion
Jesus gave the Church two ordinances:
- Water Baptism – by immersion, as a symbol of new life in Christ.
- The Lord’s Supper – remembering His death and celebrating His return.
(Romans 6:4; 1 Corinthians 11:23–26)
Baptism in the Holy Spirit
A separate experience from salvation, empowering believers for witness and holy living.
(Acts 1:8)
Sanctification
Sanctification is a lifelong process of becoming more like Christ, through the Holy Spirit and God’s Word.
(Romans 12:1–2; 1 Thessalonians 4:3)
The Church
We are the Body of Christ, called to worship, grow in faith, serve others, and share the Gospel to all nations.
(Ephesians 1:22–23; Matthew 28:19–20)
Ministry
God equips believers with spiritual gifts and calls some to serve as pastors, teachers, evangelists, apostles, and prophets.
(Ephesians 4:11–13)
Divine Healing
Healing is part of Christ’s work on the cross and is available through faith and prayer.
(Isaiah 53:4–5; James 5:14–16)
The Blessed Hope
We eagerly await the return of Jesus Christ to take His Church.
(Titus 2:13; 1 Thessalonians 4:16–17)
Christ’s Millennial Reign
Jesus will return to reign on earth for 1,000 years—a time of peace and justice.
(Revelation 20:1–6)
Final Judgment
All people will face judgment. Believers will be rewarded; unbelievers will be separated from God eternally.
(Revelation 20:11–15; 2 Corinthians 5:10)
New Heaven & New Earth
God will create a new, eternal home where His people will live in His presence forever.
(Revelation 21:1–4)
